Brunch, Blanket Scarves, & Biscotti

Hello, there. I do quite a bit of browsing the internet in my spare time (and non-spare time, for that matter). Honestly, 80% of the things I find on there are not worth your (or my) time. So, I’ve compiled a list of articles that are interesting or hold some value in my rose-colored world.

Living: Though this is obviously a not-so-secret advertisement for Essie nail polish, the pictures provide wonderful inspiration for hosting a party. And, since the holidays are fast upon us (can you believe it?), this may be a handy article to “borrow” some ideas from. asos-sweater-and-rebecca-minkoff-bag-and-j-crew-hat

Clothing: Though I love the idea of blanket scarves and the bundled-up look they bring, I always fear I’d look too frumpy wearing one. However, this wonderful inspiration popped up in my inbox yesterday morning and I thought, “If I have this problem, maybe you do too!” If you want to try the blanket scarf trend out, but aren’t sure where to start, look no further.

dsc_0189Foods: I have two yummy treats for this category! The first will make you think I’m crazy. It’s Goat Cheese & Brussels Sprouts (told you)! Yum! I know what you’re thinking, dear reader. I have lost my marbles. Or flipped my lid. Or any other phrase that means I’m absolutely crazy. But, please, hear me out. I have never hated brussels sprouts. In fact, every time I’ve eaten them, they’ve been delicious! Though I haven’t tried this particular recipe, it sounds wonderful and certainly not typical. So, if you’re feeling adventurous or particular trusting in my taste, try these out. They will surely not disappoint.

pumpkinbiscotti7The other recipe I have saved for you, dear reader, is a sweet one. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love-affair with biscotti. You see, my mother and I would enjoy one Nonni’s Biscotti every afternoon for 4 o’clock tea. It was, and still is, a very special ritual for me. When I was quite young, we would cut out and play with paper dolls. I haven’t thought about that in a long time, but whenever I eat a biscotti, I return to those special afternoons. Though I don’t expect all of you to have such vivid memories accompanying biscotti, I do hope you enjoy these seasonally-appropriate Pumpkin Spice Biscotti from the lovely Emily, of Cupcakes and Cashmere (one of my favorite blogs).

  1. I loved this post about blanket scarves! You expressed how I feel about the winter season! Also, my picture perfect day is sitting outside in Seattle on a cool, crisp, sunny day sipping on latte with a yummy biscotti 🙂
